Black Lake Regatta

Through partnership with the Pacific Northwest Boat Racing Association (PNBRA), Evergreen Shores Beach Club (ESBC) has hosted the annual Black Lake Regatta for more than 40 years. In a similar longstanding relationship, the Black Lake Fire Department assists with organization of the event and has provided the on shore medical team for the PNBRA every year, caring for the racers and spectators alike. Black Lake is famous for setting several national hydroplane and sprint boat world records - the most of any lake in the United States - making it a favorite location amongst the PNBRA community. Larger Grand Prix hydroplanes are known to hit speeds excess of 175 mph.

The Black Lake Regatta is typically held the second full weekend of July. Racing takes place Saturday and Sunday, starting at approximately 10:00 am and continues until about 5:30 pm. A buoy line is set up to protect the record breaking 1 1/4 mile race course (5 mile / 4 lap) at south end of the lake. Hydroplane pits are located lakeside within our community park. Bleachers are set up near the boat launch for spectators. Be sure to come early - they fill up quick! Flat Bottom and Outboard pits are located at the Fish & Game boat launch across the lake from ESBC.
